What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Medallion quilts start with one block, usually larger than the average block, and then surrounded by two or more borders. I like keeping the background the same as the centre block, which sort of makes the whole design look like one very big block.

Some of the border designs leave blank spaces which can be used to add quilted border designs. I am thinking that I will start another medallion quilt project file and along with modifying some of the borders used in this file will add some quilting motifs.

I don’t see a great number of medallion quilts anywhere, but they are a great way to make a square quilt for double and king size beds. I have to admit the I don’t design a lot either, and this is the last two designs in my one and only current project file which feature medallion quilt designs.

My favourite of these two designs is the second one.
